Accept this – It is the society with all its inhabitants that came up first. Economy, financial and other spheres like politics, governance followed it. The fact that consumers, suppliers, producers and capitalists are a part of the same large cluster called society is inevitably a fundamental actuality.

Let us take this a bit more sophistically. Economic growth, industrial output and private investment around the world is stagnant, even plummeting, owing to dampened sentiments of the consumer community; this community holds the nerve of the market.

If you can add more and more members to the consumer community, that is an automatic boost to financial and economic l andscape. But is that so uncomplicated? Governments have been picking novel measures to empower citizens with more and more financial dexterity, but they haven’t yet been complete winners; poverty and hunger prevail underneath shiny cities and air conditioned supermarkets.

Is there an answer to this chronic issue where private sector can play some critical role?

Undoubtedly, Yes. The most talked about phenomenon in the contemporary world is digital startups and their unprecedented success. But why an Instagram app only for the middle and elite class, why ecommerce discounts only for the tech-savvy generation?

Ever thought? If yes, there you go to the until now unexploited and largely promising field- social entrepreneurship! It is not a cup of cake or a garden walk, however. The yields too may not be that glossy in monetary terms, yet the pride and contentment that lies beneath will be worth earning and treasuring.

The call from the poor, the oppressed, the left outs and the most populous of all must awaken your senses. And this call asks for true entrepreneurial spirit, more even than that possessed by regular tech entrepreneurs, innovation has to be real, not superficial.

The society craves for a true increase in the number of social entrepreneurs who can tread a path dissimilar than the common. By doing this, you will also fortify the road for those capitalists who merely seek viability in projects, this by way of empowering the unprivileged and by making them part of the mainstream, thus boosting consumerism.

Those eyes await you and your ideas, add ‘social’ between ‘aspiring entrepreneur’!
